Every one of us, including primary school students, has a responsibility to improve our air and restore our blue sky. But air pollutants are invisible and intangible; students find them hard to understand, and teachers face a challenge explaining them.
This resource package is designed to assist teachers in teaching People and the Environment in the General Studies curriculum. It covers three main topics - Suspended Particles, Acid Rain and Photochemical Smog. Through experiments, observation and result analysis, these abstract concepts are concretised, facilitating the students’ understanding of the relevant topics, while having fun learning. We also place emphasis on getting the students to understand the relationship between air pollution and daily life, so that they can learn how individual behaviours play a part in reducing air pollution.
