Established in 1993, “Clean Up the World” is an international activity that is now held in more than 130 cities around the globe, with over 35 million participants tackling the waste problem together. Green Power is the official organiser of this annual event in Hong Kong.

“Reduce festive waste and make festive celebrations greener” has been the slogan in our attempt to raise public awareness on such festive and kitchen wastes generated from festive celebrations. With more people travelling to the countryside, we have been organising educational activities on waste in the countryside as well. Through surveys, we try to understand and propose measures on waste from these festive celebrations and travelling habits, hoping to engage the public to practice waste reduction in their daily lives.

“Clean Up the World” originated from Australian Ian Kiernan’s Clean Up Sydney Harbour campaign. In continuing his tradition, we also organise clean-up activities every year in Hong Kong, stretching across the 18 districts to the countryside. Join us in our efforts to clean up Hong Kong!
