We are looking for a mature and capable team member who is passionate about proactive conservation, education and publicity. Based on your interests, capabilities and our needs, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing various community and school engagement programmes. Besides, you will have opportunities to work inour wetland conservation team, and be engaged in habitat management, ecological surveying and frontline staff supervision.
Duties:
- Manage every stage of community and school engagement programmes, from planning to implementation to achievement sharing;
- Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders and partners, including schools, government departments, professional bodies, community groups, volunteers and etc.;
- Design, develop, and deliver trainings for teachers, students and the public;
- Create and write-up educational kits, training materials and publications;
- Coordinate engagement activities for schools and the community, such as nature tours and school talks;
- Oversee various stages of wetland conservation projects to fulfil the agreed conservation goals within designated time frames;
- Manage on-site workforce and coordinate with other team members to implement habitat restoration and maintenance works;
- Coordinate ecological and environmental studies to inform habitat management decisions.
Basic requirements:
- Bachelor degree or above (preferably in ecology, environmental science, biology, geography or related disciplines);
- Preferably 3 years of relevant working experience (candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Officer);
- Ability to create new project initiatives;
- Ability to work with other team members to perform simultaneous duties;
- Should be detailed-oriented, with strong self-learning ability, communication and problem-solving skills;
- Proficient command in both English and Chinese.
Nice to be/have:
- Demonstrated knowledge of local ecology and environmental issues;
- Full-time working experience in proactive environmental conservation;
- Experience in planning and executing community and school engagement programmes;
- Physical fitness and experience to cope with challenging outdoor environments;
- Passion for biodiversity conservation;
- Experience in environmental education.
This position bases in our headquarters in Lai Chi Kok. We offer a 5-day work week. Candidates may need to work outdoors on a regular basis. Occasionally, you are required to work on Saturday, Sunday or public holidays; compensation leave will be provided in such circumstances
